Description
An herbaceous, somewhat bushy perennial with light green or reddish brown stems with lines of white hairs. Several small flower heads of white or pale purple ray flowers surround colorful central discs and tend to grow on only one side of the plant. The central disks change from yellow to reddish purple as they age, often creating a wide variety in color along a single branch. The narrow, dark green, lanceolate leaves turn coppery in late summer.
